How Awake Happy Started (The Real Story)
Fall 2020. Everything felt fucking broken.
The world was moving too fast, asking too much, and I was burned out from trying to keep up with machines that don't care about humans.
I found myself resenting the optimization trap. I had a previous business that was overoptimized and underperforming. I was making money but trading something essential to do it.
Then I remembered something I kept forgetting in all the hustle:
The vast expanse of infinite wisdom is in you.
I love studying saints, sages, and teachers.
Amma, Ram Dass, Osho, Gandi.
These teachers remind us that what we're seeking is already here. I often forget these messages in the day-to-day grind. I get all caught up in the illusion of separateness.
Here's what hit me:
The world moves fast. We need to slow down and dance.
Life moves through us, not against us.
We will someday return to the void.
So I started making things that reminded me of what I kept forgetting.
Not because I had it all figured out. Because I needed the reminder too.
Making these pieces became part of the practice. Each design a meditation on impermanence. A reminder that we're not here forever. That intrinsic awareness is the only way through.
Awake Happy became a place where I could create without the pressure to perform or optimize everything to death. Just focus on making things that elevate.
I strive to make stuff that grounds me and hopefully others too.
This is for people who:
- Get lost in the hustle and forget what matters
- Know the wisdom is already inside but need reminders
- Want to wear something that helps them slow down
- Understand that giving life your all starts with remembering who you are
We're all just trying to remember who we are.
Don't forget: The vast expanse of infinite wisdom is in you.
